First\nshared business services center will be established in the Pomeranian Special\nEconomic Zone. The decision of supporting the investment was received by the American\ncompany JUUL Labs, which opens the regional financial-accounting center for\nEMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The center will be located in\nGdansk\u2019s Alchemia.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American\ninvestor intends to employ more than 50 employees and invest 15 million zloty\nin 2019. The official opening is planned for September and the recruitment of\nemployees has already begun. It will be the first such center of JUUL Labs\noutside United States. In the beginning, the center will focus on finance and\naccounting services for entities being part of company in EMEA countries\n(Europe, Middle East and Africa). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Financial\ncenter in Gda\u0144sk will support our activity in all markets of the EMEA region.\nIn the initial phase we will hire 50 employees and invest up to 12 million\nzloty per year. We chose Poland and Gda\u0144sk specifically due to it\u2019s potential\nand high qualifications of Polish employees. Additionally, the Pomeranian\nSpecial Economic Zone and Gda\u0144sk offer excellent conditions and hospitality \u2013 <\/em>said\nCamilla Dormer<\/strong>,Communication Director at JUUL Labs EMEA.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Thanks to the\nefficiently working system of investor\u2019s service, coordinated by Invest in\nPomerania, JUUL Labs  received\nappropriate support throughout the process of searching for the location. We\nare aware that investors locate businesses in areas, where they find friendly\nenvironment and good conditions for development. Invest in Pomerania convinced\nanother company that Pomeranian Voivodeship is such location. Cooperation in\nthis project with Pomeranian Economic Zone, which complemented the region\u2019s\noffer with its incentives, made this success possible<\/em> – said Mieczys\u0142aw\nStruk,<\/strong> Marshall of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

JUUL Labs, the start-up from Silicon Valley,\nwhich in recent years has dominated American vaping market currently expands its\ninternational footprint. The company employs over 1500 people. In Europe company\nis present already in France, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, United Kingdom,\nItaly and Spain. The mission of the company is to improve the lives of adult\nsmokers by eliminating combustible cigarettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investment support decision for JUUL Labs\nServices Poland sp. z o.o, was handed over to Roman Kratochvil<\/strong>, Finance Director for Central and East Europe and\nRussia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

–\nIt is the first decision in the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone for company representing\ninnovative business services sector. The Act on supporting new investments\nattracts domestic and foreign investors. It is beneficial to both – International\ncompanies locating their investments and creating new jobs here, as well as\nPolish small and medium-sized enterprises having opportunity to accelerate\ndevelopment and increase competitiveness – <\/em>emphasizes Przemys\u0142aw Sztandera,<\/strong> CEO of the\nPomeranian Special Economic Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the implementation of the new law\nsupporting investments, Pomeranian Special Economic Zone issued decisions to 15\ncompanies declaring 519 million PLN of investments and creation of almost 200\nnew jobs.
