All eyes on Pomerania region in Cannes

MIPIM, the world’s leading property market is underway in Cannes. Again, Pomerania region in northern Poland is exhibiting here under the joint brand of Invest in Pomerania – a regional initiative that aims at attracting investments.

Yesterday, Poland’s former president Lech Walesa gathered crowds of investors and journalists from all over the world as he spoke at the Pomeranian stand. – We fought for freedom and democracy, not only for our nation. We also fought for you, Europeans, Americans and Asians, so that you could freely invest, create jobs and help us boost the economy. That’s why I am asking you to continue this mission.

MIPIM attracts over 20,000 participants every year, the most influential players from all sectors of the international property industry. Apart from Tri-City, the largest agglomeration of Pomerania region, other big Polish cities have showcased their investment potential, among them Warsaw, Poznan, Lodz, Krakow, Katowice and Wroclaw.

Pomerania region is represented by the Pomerania Development Agency Co., the coordinator of the Invest in Pomerania initiative, bringing a joint offer from a number of the region’s main cities: Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia (Tri-City agglomeration), as well as Pruszcz Gdanski and Rumia.

– Our offer is very diverse – says Ryszard Swilski, Deputy Marshal of the Pomerania region. – This includes industrial and logistics investment plots, as well as office estate market in business services sector, such as Airport City in Gdansk, waterfront projects in Gdynia and other numerous business centers. We are primarily looking for large international investment funds with interest in real estate.

The Pomeranian exhibition stand is designed around the theme of amber, a natural raw stone and the most recognizable symbol of the region. Three multimedia screens are displaying videos and presentations about the region’s investment potential, while one of the walls features a historic photo of Lech Walesa. – When planning our presence in Cannes, we were looking for symbols that were clearly associated with Pomerania region that would help us become more visible to the visitors – explains Monika Cirocka from Invest in Pomerania, the main organizer of the Pomeranian stand.

Yesterday’s speech by Lech Walesa inaugurated a range of events held at the stand of Pomerania. Today’s focus is on the city of Gdansk and its two major investment projects: revitalization of Letnica district and Young City project located on the former shipyard area. The event will consist of a premiere announcement of a hotel and service complex Nautilus, located in the northern part of the city adjacent to the Energa stadium. Additionally, a cooperation agreement will be signed with an architectural design studio, the selected provider of the revitalization of the Young City district.
