Dynamic development of Foreign Direct

New inwestors, drop in unemployment rates, growing number of job offers and salaries growth- that is resonates in Pomernia’s stats. Newly created Shared Service and IT Centers, and quickly expanding manufacturing serve as testimonial for the region’s high attractiveness. Among the the investors there are both the global giants – Swarovski, Ricoh, Lacroix, and the smaller R&D companies like Benetel or Eurofins Digital Testing.

We can tell our region draws growing interest. 2017 is bound to become a record year in this respect. At this point in time we’ve already managed to succesfuly accomplish 9 new investment projects, which in the near future will provide 2,2 thousand new jobs in the region.– says Wojciech Tyborowski, director of Invest in Pomerania. – We will discuss Poland’s position, and the growing importance of Pomerania on the investment map with representatives of local business on September 28th, during the European Forum of New Ideas in Sopot. Please feel invited to the debate- adds Tyborowski.

Statistics

The improving situation on the labor market draws new inhabitants to the region- Pomerania ranks third among the best regional migration ratios.

The development of Pomerania in the recent years is the result of many years’ work for the business– says Mieczysław Struk, the Marshall of Pomerania. – The interest grows among the investors partly due to local government’s initiatives and close cooperation between all institutions responsible for the economic development of the region, which include: start-up support programs in Gdańsk Science and Technology Park, Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia, or Gdańsk’s Incubator STARTER and actions aimed at supporting cluster initiatives and inteligent specialisations. II would also emphasise projects coorinated by the Invest in Pomerania initiative- adds Marshall Struk.

Invest in Pomerania has been around for 6 years.

The Invest in Pomerania initiative, coordinated by Pomerania Development Agency is just celebrating its 6th anniversary. During that time it accomplished 79 investment projects, wchich in turn provided 12 thousand jobs, among which 9,7 thousand in business services (finance, accounting, human resources or recruitment) and 2,3 in manufacturning and Logistics. The Initiative supports investors in multiple areas – providing detailed data on the region, networking and building relationships with local authorities/ institutions, organizing study visits. Moreover it actively sources potential investors for the region. In the upcoming years Invest in Pomerania will focus strongly on developing the manufacturing investments and promoting the region as the ideal location to live and work.
