Every year the City of Cannes hosts MIPIM – The World’s Leading Property Market 2017, which is one of the biggest real estate industry fair in the world. The Pomeranian real estate market will be promoted by the representatives of the Office of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship and the cities of Gdynia, Gdańsk, Sopot and Pruszcz Gdański. Pomerania Development Agency is responsible for the stand of Pomerania Voivodeship. The 4-days fairs kick off on March 14.

The event will be attended by the most influential players in the real estate market of different industries and branches like the commercial property market, the production and storage market, the trade market and developers. What is more, the presence of advisory companies will allow access to many development projects, as well as sources of funding from all over the world. This year the hosts expect 2 600 exhibitors from 90 countries, 23 000 participants and 5 300 investors. Moreover, more than 100 conferences and seminars are planned.

The trade fair in Cannes is a unique chance to present the investment attractiveness of the region and the complexity of Pomeranian offer. Following the outcome of the talks started during the fair in the previous years, several companies like ECE, Echo Investment – the owner of the Tryton office or Multi Development, who is currently taking part in the construction of the Forum Gdansk, invested in Pomerania. These are tangible investments and measurable effects of operations taken by the partners of the Invest in Pomerania initiative.” – says Ryszard Świlski, deputy Marshall of Pomerania.

According to the „Investments attractiveness of voivodeships and subregions of Poland, 2016” report, carried out by the Institute for Market Economics, Pomerania is the fourth most active IPA in Poland The activities taken by the local authorities (such as information, policy communication and promotion) are an essential part of the voivodeship’s success. This year’s trade fair in Cannes is another chance for advertising the fast growing real estate market of Tri-City and Pomerania. The City of Gdynia will showcase prestigious plots of land in the city center. Gdansk will promote the Pomeranian Investment Center (PCI). The representatives of Sopot will advertise to invest in the terrains for residential and services functions, as well as in the recreational area next to Hipodrom. Pruszcz Gdanski will present the Baltic Investment Zone, a 23ha area for various types of investments. Partners of Invest in Pomerania Initiative will present a total of more than 150ha of investment areas.

At MIPIM, Invest in Pomerania will promote the new industrial parks. The zones are planned to be built in Pomerania and are the most crucial ventures of the “Invest in Pomerania 2020” project. The total area for investment in all the parks will sum up to over 70ha. The project is currently in the location analysis phase, which should allow creating an indicative list of terrains, whose owners will be able to apply for a refund from the EU funds for the costs of all the infrastructure investments.

The exhibition stand of Pomerania Voivodeship will be about 61 m2 big. It has been designed to emphasize the region’s connection with the sea. The main motive is the amber, connected with organic patterns, which are one of the leading trends of spatial design. The stands lighting and plant arrangements will also resemble the color of the amber. Inside the stand, films and presentations promoting Pomerania will be shown on the screens.

„We wanted to make the stand allude to one of the most characteristic resources of Pomerania – the amber. We wanted it to stand out with its elegant style and inventive form. I think that the project chosen for MIPIM will be noticed and remembered by the participants” – says Marcin Grzegory, Deputy Director of Invest in Pomerania
