SWAROVSKI OPENS GLOBAL BUSINESS SERVICES HUB IN GDAŃSK

12th June 2017, Gdańsk – Swarovski, leading manufacturer of precision cut crystal since 1895 and a world-renowned brand that adds sparkle to everything from jewelry, watches, fashion accessories to couture fashion and state-of-the-art lighting technology, opened its new business location in Gdańsk, Poland. The new location hosts Swarovski’s Global Business Services hub which will be built up gradually over the next years and in line with the company’s values.

A modern office located in the Yoko building in Garnizon has been officially opened at a festive gathering today. The establishment of Swarovski’s Global Business Services hub in Gdańsk was announced by the company at the beginning of the year. “Swarovski’s Global Business Services hub in Gdańsk will be build up gradually over the next years and in line with the company values. The purpose of Swarovski’s newly created Global Business Services organization is to develop and provide effective and efficient services to all parts of Swarovski”, said Mathias Margreiter, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, and he continued: “Swarovski and Gdańsk share a rich European history and culture, both have their roots in the commercial spirit of their founding fathers, and both are transforming themselves to remain one step ahead and to be ready for the future.” Currently, there are 70 people employed at Swarovski’s Global Business Services hub. At full load, the new location will host up to 300 people.

Numerous VIP guests attended the sparkling event today and expressed pleasure regarding Swarovski’s business commitment to the region.

Swarovski’s investment which deals with the implementation and development of national specialisations and high-paid workplaces perfectly meets the quality criteria defined in the Strategy for Responsible Development” says Tadeusz Kościński, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development

Since the very beginning the investment was supported by the initiative of Invest in Pomerania, in particular the Pomerania Development Agency and the Gdańsk Economic Development Agency (InvestGDA).
