For the second time in a row, Tricity received the award for the fastest growing city in the business services sector at the 9th Outsourcing Stars gala.
The gala was preceded by one of key conferences for the business services sector (BSS), the “Wind of change,” held in Tricity on 5-7 April. The BSS Forum and the Outsourcing Stars Gala were organised by Pro Progressio and Invest in Pomerania was a strategic partner of the events.
The decision to hand the award out to Tricity was based on solid data: 5800 graduates of Economics and Information Technology in 2020/20201, 18 new BPO/SSC/R&D/ITO/KPO investments implemented in the last year and almost 50 outsourcing events supported by the city in 2021.
– Since the inauguration of regional cooperation under the Invest in Pomerania initiative 11 years ago, the business services sector has been the driving force behind the development of the Pomeranian economy. This award is very important to us because of its objective nature. The algorithm containing key investment factors, such as the number of new investments / reinvestments, the increase in employment in the sector or the number and quality of qualified workforce, confirms that the Tricity has performed very well last year and is one of the strongest centres in Poland and this part of Europe. – says Marcin Grzegory, Deputy Director of Invest Pomerania.
The spectrum of business processes handled by shared service centres in the region is wide. The most frequently offered are software development, IT helpdesk, finance and accounting. Among the most interesting specialisations of the Tricity are: artificial intelligence, financial security or technological support for the aviation, offshore and logistics industries. The number of centres in the Tricity is growing, close to 200 and it’s still offering new jobs.
BSS is one of the important areas where Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia harmoniously build a common strong brand.
