First shared business services center will be established in the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone. The decision of supporting the investment was received by the American company JUUL Labs, which opens the regional financial-accounting center for EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The center will be located in Gdansk’s Alchemia.
American investor intends to employ more than 50 employees and invest 15 million zloty in 2019. The official opening is planned for September and the recruitment of employees has already begun. It will be the first such center of JUUL Labs outside United States. In the beginning, the center will focus on finance and accounting services for entities being part of company in EMEA countries (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
– Financial center in Gdańsk will support our activity in all markets of the EMEA region. In the initial phase we will hire 50 employees and invest up to 12 million zloty per year. We chose Poland and Gdańsk specifically due to it’s potential and high qualifications of Polish employees. Additionally, the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone and Gdańsk offer excellent conditions and hospitality – said Camilla Dormer,Communication Director at JUUL Labs EMEA.

JUUL Labs, the start-up from Silicon Valley, which in recent years has dominated American vaping market currently expands its international footprint. The company employs over 1500 people. In Europe company is present already in France, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Italy and Spain. The mission of the company is to improve the lives of adult smokers by eliminating combustible cigarettes.
The investment support decision for JUUL Labs Services Poland sp. z o.o, was handed over to Roman Kratochvil, Finance Director for Central and East Europe and Russia.

Since the implementation of the new law supporting investments, Pomeranian Special Economic Zone issued decisions to 15 companies declaring 519 million PLN of investments and creation of almost 200 new jobs. Half of investors represent small and medium sized enterprises.
