QLOC specializes in providing services in the video game industry helping international publishers to prepare their virtual products. The company is opening its new office in Gdańsk as the first representative of this industry in Pomerania region. Tri-City’s localization and qualifications of local IT staff were decisive factors influencing QLOC’s choice.
QLOC’s history has started in 2009. At the beginning this organization focused on translating and localizing games into30 languages, and testing games quality before premiere. Yet, QLOC quickly discovered much bigger needs of this industry so they decided to expand their services. Currently, they provide the so-called porting services which means cross-platform conversions (for example from PS4 to PC), and extended graphic services, like creating cut-scenes to previsualise the game’s story.
Until now, QLOC cooperates with such giants like Warner Bros. Interactive, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Capcom, Six Foot and IO Interactive. Titles co-produced by QLOC are globally known, for example Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (PC), Tales of Zestiria (PS4 and PC), Devil May Cry series (Xbox One and PS4), Resident Evil 4 i 6 (PC), RiME (PC and Xbox One), Injustice 2 (PC) and much more.
QLOC relocates a team of experts to introduce company’s current projects and its work ethics. Developers with solid foundations of C++ skills are wanted! Firstly, QLOC will hire 15 people in Gdańsk, in the future planning to double this number along with the company’s continuous development. Each QLOC’s project involves a game title, which will strengthen every developer’s portfolio.
– QLOCK investment launch opens new opportunities on the Pomeranian labor market. Local developers finally have their chance to work in this dynamic industry. Knowledge and experience brought here by QLOC will enrich the whole Tri-City IT community – says Małgorzata Tusk, Invest in Pomerania.
-We have decided to choose Tri-City mainly because of attractiveness of the Pomerania region, including its capabilities to relocate employees from other parts of Poland and abroad – says Adam Piesiak, QLOC CEO – another factors are availability of local IT professionals. New employees will reinforce the Development department for which Gdańsk new office is being established – adds Piesiak.
According to PwC report “Perspectives on entertainment and media development in Poland 2017-2021”, annual growth of this sector amounts to 4.2%, whereas the Polish video game market is one of the biggest in Central and Eastern Europe. Average annual growth of this market will increase by 9.4% until 2021. As a result it will be worth over 574 million US dollars. Working for QLOC can become the first opportunity in Pomerania to be directly engaged in this fascinating industry.
