Spectacular success of Tri-City at CEE Awards 2017

The award for the most dynamically developing city went to the Tri-City Agglomeration. The City of Gdansk has been recognized for the public sector initiative of the year. The awards have been handed by the international CEE Shared Services and Outsourcing Awards Jury. What is more, BSS companies from Tri-City have been awarded too. The awards were received by the representatives of Pomerania Voivodeship. The Gala took place in Warsaw on February 2nd.

International outsourcing companies, local governments and BPO specialists from all over CEE, meet annually at the CEE Awards gala. The event have been held in Warsaw since 2013. This year, the representatives of Gdansk, Gdynia, the Pomerania Development Agency and several companies from Tri-City have represented Pomerania Voivodeship during the award ceremony.

The prizes are an expression of appreciation for the contribution to the development of the Business Process Outsourcing sector. There were 25 categories in the competition. 5 of them have been won by Tri-City and companies which are located there.

Thanks to 10 new BSS investment projects supported by Invest in Pomerania in 2016, Tri-City was won the award to the Most Dynamically Developing City in Poland. It’s worth mentioning that these project will bring 1000 new jobs to the region. In the race for this award, Tri-City beat cities like Katowice, Poznan and Wroclaw.

“The award confirms that Tri-City is a very attractive place for BSS investments, not only in Poland but also in Europe. The dynamic growth of investments and employment goes together with a transfer of increasingly complex processes. That demand higher and higher qualifications and skills from the employees. Tri-City proves again that it is able to meet all the requirements of international BSS investors” – said Mieczysław Struk, Marshall of Pomerania Voivodeship .

The City of Gdansk won yet another award. The Shared Services Center of Gdansk which is a budget unit founded in 2016, received an award for the Public Sector Initiative of the Year.

Several companies located in Tri-City have also won prestigious awards. The SII Company  has been awarded for IT Services Firm of the Year and PwC has won the title of the Most Unique Services Provider. Special appreciation shall be expressed towards Mr. Scott Newman – The Managing Director and Senior Vice President of State Street Bank who was named the Top Manager of the Year.

The success of companies from Tri-City is a success of Invest in Pomerania. SII have been one of the most important IT providers in Tri-City since 2008 and its Gdansk office is the company’s biggest in Poland. The award for PwC, whose processes are also supported from Pomerania, is also a pride of Invest in Pomerania. The processes are one of the most advanced in the financial sector in Tri-City. The dynamic growth of business centres and qualifications of their employees is the major factor of Tri-City attractiveness – added Marcin Grzegory, Deputy Director of Invest in Pomerania.
