Today in Warsaw a special conference marked the end of 2018 edition of the National Competition “Land for Medal”. Winners from each province were announced.

Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) in cooperation with the marshals and the regional investor service centers periodically organize the “Land for Medal” contest, aimed at selecting comprehensively prepared areas for production activities. The event is organizsed under the patronage of the Polish Ministry of Enterprise and Technology.

In total 81 communes applied in this year’s competition. Representatives from the Regional Investor Assistance Centers selected 65 from all submitted offers. These entered the second stage of the competition, which consisted of audits of selected areas. Each of the municipalities had an hour to present their area. In the Pomerania region, 6 areas were submitted. The winner turned out to be the Słupsk Commune with the area of Płaszewko II with the total of 25.46 ha.

– Płaszewko II area, located directly at the express road S6 in the commune of Słupsk in the Pomeranian Voivodship, which took first place in the “Land for Medal” competition 2018, is now part of a dynamically growing business complex of over 50 ha of industrial and service plots – says Barbara Dykier, head of the Słupsk commune. – There are now a dozen or so companies in the food, logistics and production sectors that are already operating in this area or completing the construction process. In the last two years, the commune has sold most its plots. We decided to keep up the momentum and prepare new land. We need new investments and new jobs. Thanks to the well-prepared sites and a close-knit team of my colleagues, we are able to succeed in attracting investors, develop our municipality and the whole region.

The competition aims to promote municipalities and give them the opportunity to attract new investments. The winning areas will be recommended by PAIH to foreign investors that plan to start or expand their business operations in Poland.
The winners of the competition can also use the “Land for Medal 2018” logo on all promotional materials.
