Invest in Pomerania at EXPO REAL 2018 in Munich

Targi Expo Real Monachium

The 21st edition of one of the largest property fairs in Europe, Expo Real Munich, begins today. The fair will last until October 10. Together with the Pomerania Development Agency – the organizer of the Pomeranian exhibition stand – The Cities of Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Rumia and the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone will present their investment offer under a joint brand of Invest in Pomerania.

Under one joint brand

The Expo Real fair in Munich attracts over 40,000 participants each year. Representatives of the largest investment funds in the world, developers of commercial, office, logistics and hotel properties, as well as companies looking for new locations for their projects, will gather here during the next three days. Tri-City has been a frequent participant in the fair, and since 2017 it has joined forces under one brand in order to promote the Pomeranian region as one of the fastest growing areas in Europe.

– During the last five years we have seen a dynamic growth in the region, confirmed by the fourth place we secured in the 2017 “Best-Performing Large Cities in Europe” index – a ranking created by the american independent research center Milken Institute – says Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship. – The ranking was based on the region’s performance during the period 2012-2016 when we showed faster economic growth than Berlin or Paris. Pomorskie is also the fastest growing region in Poland. These arguments are definitely convincing and many investors are choosing to locate their projects here.

Pomerania’s booming real estate market

Tri-City ranks third in Poland in terms of office stock (at almost 700,000 m2). About 73% of the office centres are located in Gdańsk, the remaining part in Gdynia (22%) and Sopot (5%). Also the supply of warehouse stock (currently at 450,000 m2) is growing year by year. Only 4.6% of the warehouses remain vacant – a sign of a growing interest from companies in the logistics and production sectors that also indicates a vast potential for commercial property developers.

– Apart from bringing with us an extensive offer for the business services, production and logistic sectors, we have also paid more attention to the hotel and recreational property market –  says Mikołaj Trunin, Deputy Director at Invest in Pomerania. – The Cities of Gdynia and Sopot are presenting an especially interesting offer in this regard. Pomorskie is a fantastic location for this industry, the fact already confirmed by the first place we were given in the TripAdvisor’s “Top European Destinations on the Rise” ranking in 2017 – he adds.

Three in-depth reports also debut during the fair: one presenting the region’s real estate market, second – its touristic offer, and the third will showcase the investment possibilities of Invest in Pomerania’s partners at Expo Real. The reports, prepared in partnership with the Pomeranian Regional Tourist Organization and based on data provided by the largest consulting companies in Poland, are available on our website.

Amber – the symbol of Pomerania

The Pomeranian region is consistently creating associations reflecting the region’s seaside character by using the motif of amber. For several years now it has been an inseparable design element of the Pomeranian exhibition stands during various property fairs. It is no different this year, with the amber motif again decorating the the 50 m2 exhibition stand at Expo Real.

Pomerania’s investment offer

The City of Gdańsk, together with InvestGDA development agency, will be presenting the area of the Pomeranian Logistic Center (PCL) – a natural extension of the Outer Port selected for development of service, logistics, distribution and production facilities. The excellent location in vicinity of the Port of Gdańsk  makes PCL one of the most important areas in the region suited for commercial development. Thanks to the rapidly growing modern infrastructure in Tri-City, the center has excellent access to domestic and international road, rail, air and sea connections. Future investments in this area will significantly increase the port’s and the region’s competitiveness, which will in turn also accelerate investments in the neighboring port areas and beyond.
