Tricity was honoured as “The Best Place for Doing Business” according to this year ABSL report on Business Services Sector.
The business services sector is one of the most important and dynamically developing elements of the Polish economy. Changes in the sector are in line with the growing importance of services to the overall economy. Services are becoming the de facto driving force of the economy, and this is having an increasing impact on the image of the sector. Services also constitute one of the pillars of the economy’s international competitiveness. In the context of the need for transformations in line with the paradigms of Industry 4.0, the role of this sector is already significant and may grow further.
In 2016, 16,000 people were employed in the business services sector in Tricity. At the end of Q1 2020, that figure was 27,900 people in more than 158 centres. 51% of the centres are involved in R&D activities. It is forecast that the sector will generate another 29,000+ jobs in Tricity in 2021.
The 11th edition of The Business Services report ranks Tricity as the best place for doing business in Poland. The rankings are based on 12 criteria or which Tricity ranked in the top 3 for at least 8 of them, thus giving it a competitive edge over last years winner Poznan and Wrocław.
This ranking goes to reaffirm our belief that following up on our creed of “we care more”, our multi-pronged approach of attracting investors via a fantastic location, availability of talent and showcasing the region in terms of a fantastic place to live, work, study and play is right.
Being ranked at the top also pushes to do bigger and better things, and if there is one thing we love, its challenges, so watch out 2020/2021 we are gonna rock it!
