Business Services Sector

The Tricity is one of the best locations for advanced business services in Poland. Since 2011, the sector has been recording organic growth accompanied by a steady increase in employment and booming market for modern office space.

IT / R&D

Information and communications technology (ICT) is one of the most dynamically developing industries in Pomerania. As a result, the percentage share of the industry in direct foreign investments is growing every year. Already, IT and R&D centers in Tricity account for more than half of companies from the modern business services sector.

Maritime sector – Shipbuilding

The maritime industry is one of the most dynamically developing sectors of the region's economy. Tricity shipyards produce highly specialized vessels for the offshore industry, as well as exclusive yachts.

Logistics

Pomerania has a unique logistics potential owing to its strategic location on the Baltic Sea coast and the Baltic-Adriatic transport axis. Its two dynamically growing ports are serving as the hub port for the Central and Eastern Europe.

Electronics

Pomerania is the leading cluster for electronics in Poland. The largest global companies have invested in the region and have carried out significant reinvestments in recent years.

Automotive sector

Thanks to its favorable geographical position and effective sea transport, the region has become an important exporter of automotive products. The seaports in Gdansk and Gdynia offer well-organized connections with the leading automotive clusters in Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, Belgium, Finland and Denmark.

Biotechnology

Well-developed transport and R&D infrastructure, availability of qualified personnel and the presence of the leaders in the industry – make biotechnology one of the key sectors in the region that also shows substantial potential for development.

Food processing

Food processing is traditionally an important sector of the region’s economy. It currently generates over 11% of the region’s sold production and attracts major global investments.

Offshore

The strength of the Pomeranian Voivodeship is experienced companies handling orders for external investors in the offshore industry – as well as installations, design centers, projects, strong research and development centers and currently over 7,000 students of faculties with the sector.
